Ingredients

  • 575g of minced beef
  • 350g potatoes, peeled, grated and squeezed
  • 1 large onion grated
  • 1 egg beaten
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 50g butter
  • 50g plain flour
  • 600ml of chicken stock
  • 2 teaspoons of vinegar
  • 2 sugar lumps
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 tablespoons of double cream
  • 4 teaspoons dill
  • salt
  • pepper
  • parsley

Instructions

    Mix all the meat ball ingredients together to form into 16 balls

    Place in a greased flying pan and cook gently for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally until browned and thoroughly cooked. Transfer to a flat serving dish and keep warm

    To make the sauce

    Melt the butter in a saucepan, stir in the flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually blend in the stock stirring continuously until the mixture comes to the boil

    Remove from the heat and stir in the vinegar and sugar. Beat the egg yolks and cream together and stir into the sauce with the dill. Season to taste

    Pour the sauce over the meat balls covering them completely

    Garnish with the parsley
